JEOL’s new benchtop SEM - the NeoScope JCM-6000 - is as simple to operate as a digital camera, but has the powerful electron optics of an SEM, with up to 60,000X magnification. The NeoScope makes it simple for any skill level of operator to obtain outstanding SEM images in less than three minutes from sample loading to imaging.
The microscope has a stylish new design with up-to-date features. Operation is via a touch screen, and is simplified with auto focus, auto alignment, auto contrast and auto brightness controls. The NeoScope operates in both low and high vacuum modes with three settings for accelerating voltage. NEW - DNA/RNA & PROTEIN Quantification - TRINEAN XPOSE
The Xpose is a compact, benchtop spectrophotometer for high-speed quantification of DNA, RNA or protein samples.
Using its microfluidic slides, 1 to 16 micro-volume samples (2 µl) can be prepared on any bench before starting the measurement. This avoids time consuming sample loading and cleaning steps on the instrument, leading to minimal hands-on time and a fast read-out of 1 minute for 16 samples. A Lab Armor Bead Bath performs all the essentials such as warming, thawing, incubating and chilling while maintaining a constant temperature just like a water bath, but with some extra benefits:
? The Bead Bath naturally holds things in place without accessories.
? Higher energy efficiency: water constantly evaporates during water bath operation which causes a cooling effect. Due to this evaporative-cooling effect, the bath must heat more frequently which increases energy consumption.
? The Bead Bath never has to be turned off.
? Any type of vessel can be used; they don’t have to be water-tight. No risk of water infiltrating into the vessels.

Electronic 96-channel hand-held pipettor

Affordable 384-well pipetting
Integra Biosciences launched the new Viaflo 384, an enhanced version of the successful Viaflo 96 pipette. The new Viaflo384 has all the advantages of the Viaflo96.
It is capable of both 96- and 384-channel pipetting and therefore the ideal instrument for users already working with 384-well plates or planning to do so in the future.
The new 384-channel pipetting heads are available in 12.5 µl and 125 µl volumes and only work in conjunction with the new “XYZ GripTip boxes”, which are sturdier in built and feature an SBS footprint.

Nuremberg. Siemens division Industry Automation introduces its new one page application concept of SIMATIC IT R&D Suite for the usage on a tablet to the market. From now on users will be able to experience the Siemens software platform for R&D and quality management on their tablet via web access in real time. This “no clutter” approach in the shape of a one page application concept replaces extensive menus with double clicks and multiple screens. The screen only displays the logical options related to the user’s current activity. Related background information is displayed in-screen and data synchronisation is a thing of the past.
This new approach gives users more freedom, flexibility and mobility while running their lab application on their tablet no matter where they are. The mobile platform deploys all the assets of modern tablets in a simple user interface. The software footprint on the device is negligible as only a browser is required eg. IE10, Firefox, Chrome, Safari on a tablet or on a pc. Moreover SIMATIC IT R&D Suite supports both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
